The lodge has 26 deluxe on-suite chalets and 2 family chalets, all air-conditioned and set in a natural indigenous forest. The lodge is rated 3 star and ‘Highly Recommended’.
The restaurant offers a light lunch, buffet breakfast and dinner. Game and traditional dishes our speciality! The bar has a wide variety of drinks plus a walk-in wine cellar!
An upstairs safari room offers relaxing loungers with a library and curios. The rock pool is situated close to the restaurant area. The lodge also has a ‘Boma’ and waterhole for those special functions and weddings!
The lodge is not fenced so visits from our Rhino or antelope friends are a regular occurrence!
The highlights at Thanda Nani are the game drives, many rare species can be seen here, i.e. Sable, Roan, Eland, Red Hartebeest and Tsessebe. General game, Giraffe, kudu, zebra, wildebeest, impala, Nyala, bushbuck etc. are all found here. Leopard and the smaller cats are often seen, also Buffalo, Rhino, Black & White. No Elephant or lions, but then they are just 10km’s away in the Kruger!
Getaway Tours is based at Thanda Nani and operates a fleet of vehicles offering a range of services to our guests at Thanda Nani and other lodges in the area.
Transfers from Johannesburg or Nelspruit airports, day or overnight safaris into the Kruger Park, daily excursions to the Blyde River Canyon, Elephant safaris, horse trails, or drives/walks on Thanda Nani are all offered by Getaway Tours.
